Place: Macau Museum, Macau, China

This is an ancient chinese traditional door on display in the Macau Museum, Macau, China.

The Wood Works::
The door is green which signifies royalty or rich people. Chinese favor Red or Green for their doors.

The Metal Works::
Starting from Left to Right:

The Big Plant Pot in the upper left side of the door is for aesthetic purposes only, just to balance the otehr symbols present on the door.

The Coin symbol just below the big plant pot signifies Wealth or money, the house was supposed to be never devoid of money and the owner always in good financial condition.
Its was used in Ancient China in the era of the Ching Dynasty.

The Cooking Pot, or Ting in Cantonese below the coin symbol signifies good harvest and good luck in terms of good grains, the people asked from their Gods not to ever let the house be empty of food and that no one would ever sleep on an empty stomach.

The significanceLeaf below the cooking pot or Ting is not known to me, but i think its for aesthetic sense of the door.

Moving to the middle and the right section of the door we have two symbols which dominate the door.

The Fruit Tree signifies the male offspring, ancient chinese people valued the male child more. Here it means praying for more sons, grandsons etc. for the family tree. The Branches, Fruit, Leaves on the tree symbolises more male children in the family.

The last symbol is of the bird Stork represents long life for the family members, note their long beaks and long legs. The 2 pairs are sitting close to each other.

Family bonds were valued and everyone hoped for a longer life.

I hope u like it. Just a piece of the ancient chinese heritage and culture.

Worked on Photoshop, upped the levels, sharpened the metal works for more shine and detail. Some area of the wood work is cloned for restoration purposes.

Most deffinate one of you best shots untill now. It's a little tilted, so there is still room for improvement, but that's just minor. The colour is bright and it has splendid detail.
